What it take

I learmed some advices and instructions that I should known when I write web content. Some of these are: being patient and curious with myself, remembering that I write for real people, and listening hard. These instructions and advices are helpful because writing is a process and it is not only one step. To write a web content, I should first do research and clarify what I found with the goals of my writing. Then, I can start wroting the content and after that I have to refine what I wrote to make sure that every thing is correct and complete.

The problem I will talk about in this journal is the new addition feature in the YouTube website. Now, after the person finishes from watching the video he selected, YouTube automatically directs the viewer to another video if the viewer did not click any existing video. This means YouTube forces me to watch the video they select it to me which contradicts with the affordance of the YouTube website, selecting any video the viewer likes. This problem also prevents me to replay the video I selected because the YouTube goes to another video without taking my permission to change the video I selected before. Additionally, this problem usually upset me because I need to research again to see my video. To solve this problem, YouTube should remove this addition feature. If YouTube wants to advertise some videos, they can have these videos when my video ends without taking me to that video unless I agree and hit the video I want to see. In this case, YouTube advertise their videos and I will not be upset because I can replay my video and can select any advertised video if I have the desire to see without forcing me to see it by automatic direction to the advertised video.

The problem I will talk about in this journal is the quality of the sensor in the automatic door. The problem is that the sensor sometimes is not sensitive for short people or children. The sensor is located on the top of the automatic door which makes a long distance between the sensor and the short person. This long distance makes the sensor not sense the presence of the short person and thus the door will not open. In other words, the insensivity of the sensor constrains the entry of short people. To open the door, short people should raise their hands so the sensor can sense them and open the door for them. But sometimes, even after raising the hand, the sensor does not sense. In this case, people should wait until someone who is taller than them come to open the door for them. I personally sometimes face this problem. To solve the problem, I suggest to use high quality sensor that can sense the presence of people regardless of how tall they are, so all people can enter the door without facing any problem that may upset them and let him feel negatively to their self because they are short.

In this journal, I will talk about a problem in the LVC dorm. I will talk about Kiester Hall because I live there. Although the Kiester Hall consists of three floors, the hall has only stairs. It is difficult to have only stairs in the dorm that has three floors because student always move in and out with their luggage more than one times during the semester. For example, during spring semester, students need to leave the dorm during spring break, easter break and then in the summer if they do not have any classes. Moving in and out with the luggage by stairs is difficult and makes students tired and may result in fall, especially we are freshmen and do not have that strength to move our heavy luggage by stairs. Therefore, I suggest to have an elevator or a ramp that will makes moving our luggage in and out the hall easier, more safety and takes less time than with stairs.

The problem I will talk about in this journal is the design of my coffee cup. The design of the coffee cup does not have cover on the opening where you drink the coffee. Because there is no cover on the opening, I cannot put in my pack back. This problem makes me never use the coffee cup when I go out because it hinders my movement. For example, if I go to my class, I should carry my coffee cup by my hand all the time if I did not drink all the coffee so I get terrible in opening doors of the halls. Also in the winter, my hands freeze because I hold my coffee cup on my hands. Using this coffee cup makes me uncomfortable since it hinders my mobility. To solve the problem, I suggest to make a cover for this opening. This cover has one end attach to the coffee and the other end is movable. The movable end is used to cover or uncover the opening and the end that attaches to the cup is needed to not lose the cover so the cover always stick with the cup.
